Face/Neck Lift with HIFU
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It is a non-invasive device that utilizes highly focused energy from ultrasound to tighten the skin and stimulate collagen. The procedure takes about 30-90 mins depends on the site and indication of treatment.
What is HIFU?
How does that work?HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy to superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) layer of the skin to tighten and lift the skin (this is the same layer that the surgeon uses for facelift). Besides that, additional treatment at the middle of the dermis is performed to firm the skin by stimulating production of new collagen.
How long does the result last?
One shall start to appreciate skin improvement approximately 3 months after the treatment. With proper maintenance of healthy lifestyle, the result is expected to last for several years. It is important to note that result may vary depends on the severity of aging.
What are the side effects?
HIFU has a good safety record when it is performed by experienced doctor. The most frequent reported reactions are discomfort, redness and swelling at the treated areas that will resolve within hours to days. Other more serious complications such as nerve irritation or damage can be avoided with proper technique.
