What is filler augmentation for the face?

This is a non-surgical tissue augmentation with injectable filler. There are several types of filler can be considered such as Hyaluronic Acid (Teosyal, Restylane, Neuvia) , Poly-L Lactic Acid (Sculptra or DermaVeil), Calcium Hydroxyapatite (Radiesse), polycaprolactone(Ellanse). The type of filler chosen depends on the site of the injection. The procedure is usually completed within 30 minutes.

How are the fillers differ from each other.

Hyaluronic Acid filler is made up of cross-linked HA which is compatible with the body, it adds volume and fills up the lines and folds. The result last between 6 months to 24 monthsRadiesse Filler contains both filling gel and collagen stimulating calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microsphere. Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the calcium microsphere, leaving behind only the collagen. The result lasts between 12-18 months.

Ellanse contains both carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and polycaprolactone (PCL), CMC fills up the groove while PCL stimulates the collagen, giving a more natural and longer lasting effect compared to other fillers. The result last up to 4 years.

What are the advantages of Filler over conventional surgery?
